July 4th and Religion in the USA

As Americans everywhere are getting ready to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th this year, it is important to revisit our democratic principles, and the direction of the policies that our country is following.

As members of American democracy, it is important for citizens to be active and informed voters and participants in the democratic proccess. Without an educated, interested, and active citizenry, any democracy would be greatly lacking. Certain issues, such us religion, need to be openly and meaningfully discussed in America so as to not cause division, but cohesion. It is healthy to debate issues in a way that serves the good of the people, and follows American constitution.
